This short film was made in collaboration with the Fondation Action Enfance, which takes in young people placed in homes by court order.
The challenge of the script was to write a three-minute choral film for non-professional actors aged between 8 and 18. The idea for the film came to me when I found a shopping trolley in the street and remembered all the stupid things I'd done with these freely available cars. So I decided to write a few lines including groups of quite different people: a father and his children in a hurry, a bunch of zany and creative skateboarders, a troop of imaginative aliens and astronauts, and an embittered adult who rediscovers his childlike soul at the sight of the shopping trolley transformed into a rocket.
Just as filming was finishing, an agent called to tell us that Guillaume de Tonquédec was very interested in the project. The second challenge was to write a scene that I hadn't initially planned and fit it into the time limit.
